Integrative Child counselling in Almere for children ages 4 to 12 and their parents
As a parent, you might sense that your child is struggling in some way, even if you can’t quite put your finger on it. Perhaps your child becomes overwhelmed more quickly, struggles with emotions, or finds it difficult to do certain things. You feel powerless - as if you’ve already tried everything, yet nothing seems to help. When you reach that point, it’s time to pause and look together at what is really going on. Please know: you are not alone, and support is available! You are very welcome here!
At Kindertherapie Martina, I offer integrative child coaching and child counseling in Almere for children aged 4 to 12 and their parents. I support children and families in developing greater self-understanding, emotional balance, and confidence in dealing with everyday situations.
Integrative child counseling and coaching is a short-term process, in which parents are actively involved. The guidance consists of parent sessions and individual sessions with your child, fully tailored to what your family needs at this moment. Together, we work towards more insight, resilience, and growth - for your child and for your family as a whole.
Why parents choose me?
Parents choose to work with me because they experience my approach as calm, personal, and supportive. I take the time to listen carefully and to understand not only a child’s behaviour, but also the story behind it - the family, the changes they’ve been through, and the world the child is growing up in.
I have a special focus on working with international and intercultural families, including families who have moved to the Netherlands as expats. I understand that moving to a new country can bring many transitions at once - a new language, a new school system, different expectations, and the feeling of starting over. For children, this can be especially challenging, even when everything looks “fine” from the outside.
I work a lot with multilingual children and children who are adjusting to a new environment, finding their place, or trying to fit in. In my practice, there is space for these experiences, without pressure to adapt quickly or to have everything figured out. Children are allowed to be exactly where they are.
Parents often tell me they feel uncertain or overwhelmed within an unfamiliar system and don’t always know what support is available or what their child truly needs. I offer a place where both parents and children feel seen, understood, and taken seriously - emotionally, culturally, and linguistically. I work in Dutch, English, and Czech, so families can express themselves in the language that feels most comfortable and safe.
In my sessions, I follow the child’s pace and create a warm, playful environment where trust can grow. Parents are closely involved throughout the process, and together we explore what helps your child feel more secure, confident, and resilient. My guidance is shaped with care, professionalism, and ongoing reflection, always tailored to your child and your family’s unique situation.
